Summer Resident Camp

Imagine your daughter discovering the wonders of the natural world. Imagine her making lifelong friends with other girls and becoming self sufficient while living in a tent. Imagine her gaining the self-confidence to lead a group through the challenge course.

Since 1955, Camp Tanasi has been enriching the lives of girls. Girls ages 7-11 live in comfortable cabins; older girls live in platform tents with cots and mattresses. Healthy meals are served family style in Lighton Lodge.

Camp Tanasi is located in Andersonville on 461 forested acres bordering Norris Lake, the ideal setting for girls who love the outdoors. Camp Tanasi is proudly owned and operated by the Girl Scouts of Tanasi Council, Inc. Our program is open to all girls, member and non-member, without regard to race, creed, national origin, or ability.

We're Proud of Our Staff

Our counselors are the heart of our program because most of them were Tanasi campers themselves. Their commitment to Girl Scout values truly makes Camp Tanasi a place where girls grow strong. All staff members are carefully selected through in-depth personal interviews, references and background checks. Intensive training builds our lifeguards, tower staff, horseback instructors, and activity counselors into a strong team.

Camp Tanasi summer programs are supervised by Raven Pursley, Summer Resident Camp Director.
