Girl Scout History

Image On March 12, 1912, Juliette "Daisy" Gordon Low held the first Girl Scout meeting in Savannah, Georgia. Low believed that all girls should have the opportunity to develop physically, mentally, and spiritually.

Today, Girl Scouts of the USA has a membership of almost 4 million girls and adults.

Locally, Girl Scouts of Tanasi Council, Inc. serves 16 counties in East Tennessee and over 13,000 girls and adults.

Our program is open to all members and is dedicated to every girl, everywhere.
