Girl Scouts hold biggest slumber party ever

Knoxville, Tennessee (September 10, 2007):  Girl Scouts are eager to welcome new friends at East Tennessee’s biggest slumber party.

Tanasi Council will host the overnight bash at the Crown Plaza hotel in downtown Knoxville beginning Friday, October 19, 2007, at 7:30 p.m. The event lasts until 7:30 the following morning.

“This is a great way for girls to register as Girl Scouts and dive straight into the fun,” says Lissa Frank, director of membership for Tanasi Council.

Girls will enjoy music, dancing, games, arts and crafts, and will even earn part of Tanasi’s new “World in Our Hands” stewardship badge.

Girls who join Girl Scouting the night of the event must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.  The fee is $10 per person.  Current Girl Scouts must register for the event by October 15.
